The Recent Past is a portrait of the modern city suspended in time — a city whose people appear as spirits and traces, and whose structures carry the psychic charge of history.

Through shadow, long exposure and intentional camera movement, the series views the urban landscape as a world that is slipping away. It is a world of anonymity and symbolism, built in stone but distorted by memory.
